Multiple agencies battle overnight house fire - The Times Herald

Clyde Township Fire Department was assisted by Kimball Township and Kenockee Township fire departments in battling a fire that occurred in the 6800 block of Mels Drive in Ruby early Saturday.

The call was received at 1:22 a.m. Clyde Township Assistant Fire Chief Dave Dortman said homeowners woke up to find their house on fire. The homeowners escaped, but one received minor burns that were treated on the scene.

One dog also escaped, but one died in the fire.

The scene was cleared around 5 a.m. St. Clair County Sheriffs, DTE Energy and Tri-Hospital EMS also responded.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, but is not believed to be suspicious, Dortman said.
