Vienna house demolitions set for late October | News, Sports, Jobs - Warren Tribune Chronicle

HOWLAND — Two houses near the Vienna police and road departments will be demolished later this month.

Steve Papalas with the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office met with members of the Trumbull County Council of Governments last week to discuss plans for the demolitions.

Vienna Trustee Phil Pegg said when the house by the police department is taken down, the land will be flattened to help alleviate flooding at the police department, which sits in a lower area.

The COG has worked with Farmington, Brookfield, Braceville and Niles to get buildings and houses demolished. Kinsman and Brookfield officials are among those seeking help for demolitions.

COG Chairman James LaPolla said COG plans to work with retired Bazetta fire Chief Dennis Lewis to seek grants after a grant to purchase a mask tester was rejected. The grant will be resubmitted in 2022.
