Amazon's Prime Day begins Oct. 13, but its leading competitors are already moving in with sales of their own, including Dell.

Dell’s 48-hour sales event officially begins on Tuesday, though it's already lowered a few prices. Compared to Amazon, Dell will be focused on its own laptop and desktop computers, as well as its line of professional monitors. Dell doesn’t carry much in the way of third-party products, but it does sell a few TVs from leading manufacturers including Samsung, Sony, LG, and Vizio.

Dell has a leg up here, as it's able to offer lower prices than other retailers, like the Alienware M15 R2 gaming laptop with an Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics card marked down $1,160. Dell also tends to use gift cards to sweeten its TV and display deals, like a Dell 34-Inch 2K UltraSharp monitor with a $312 discount and a $100 Dell gift card.
