Abandoned Endicott Apartment House to Be Demolished - wnbf.com - wnbf.com

A dilapidated apartment building that's been a problem spot in an Endicott neighborhood for years is about to be torn down.

The Broome County Land Bank Corporation acquired the two-story structure at 108 Roosevelt Avenue in February.

The Land Bank has moved to demolish the abandoned building in partnership with the village of Endicott. The site is one block north of East Main Street.

The property had been cited for several code violations in recent years.

A man who lives near the old apartment house said he believed it has not been occupied for several years. He expressed happiness that the building is about to be removed.

A demolition crew is scheduled to start work Friday. The project to remove the structure is expected to cost about $26,000.
