A 41-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after he was spotted by Ventura homeowners inside their house, authorities said.
Seth Dees, described as homeless, was taken into custody shortly after 8 a.m., when officers found him not far from the home in the 1100 block of Poli Street, according to the Ventura Police Department.
Police said the owners saw a man nearby when they were leaving for a walk and when he was out of sight they suspected he had gone inside. They returned, found him inside and confronted him as he left with some of their property.

Dees is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court July 22, according to jail records.
