Only a few months to go before we witness the revolutionization of gaming with the arrival of the much-awaited consoles. As always, what we call the ‘console war’, is on between the fans of Xbox and the PlayStation franchise. We have already caught a glimpse of what the two consoles are capable of and we have seen the host of new games set to release for these consoles.

However, it seems that the PlayStation 5 is winning the battle as far as people’s opinions are concerned. Now, of course, Xbox fans have been rooting for the Series X as much as they have from the very beginning and for good reason. But, overall, we have to admit that PlayStation 5 has the edge if we are considering popular choice.
Since we have already seen the games to expect for each of the consoles, the debate has come down to the comparison between the titles. This has only made matters worse for Xbox since Halo: Infinite, the game that headlined the list of upcoming games for the console, came across as a big disappointment to a large section of the fans.
Has Halo: Infinite made matters worse for Xbox in the console war?
The main problem that fans had with the upcoming Halo title is its graphics. With all the hype regarding next-gen in terms of looks and gameplay, Halo managed to disappoint us big time. Some have even compared it to the graphics of Halo: Reach and concluded that Reach has better graphics. Now, 343 Industries had said this before that they have listened to the criticisms and will be working on the visuals to make it better. Today the official Twitter handle for the franchise tweeted that the devs have postponed its release to the next year.

This is a good decision rather than making improvements prior to the game’s release. But looks like the damage has already been done. People making a comparison between the consoles by comparing the exclusive titles will most likely lean towards PS5. Xbox has a pretty exciting lineup with a roster of interesting indie titles. But on the other hand, the title that will headline the PS5 exclusives is the much-anticipated and rightfully hyped Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Not to forget that it was a PlayStation exclusive that has earned huge popularity and has become a serious contender for the title of Game of The Year. The Last of Us Part 2 has taken everyone by awe as it went on to become a bestseller.
We cannot make an assumption about which console will emerge as the better one by comparing the titles. Moreover, a lot of games have had to postpone development due to the current pandemic situation. However, we feel that the Halo misfortune might reflect in the Xbox sales.
