The U.S. House of Representatives plans to vote this week to send the articles of impeachment against President Trump on to the Senate.
That means the Senate trial could also start this week.
The president is charged with abuse of power for pressuring the president of Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden.
He’s also charged with obstruction of Congress for trying to block the House investigation.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants the Senate to consider new witnesses, including former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
The president is blocking White House officials from appearing.
