DANNEBROG, Neb. (KSNB) - A house in Dannebrog is completely destroyed after a massive fire Saturday.
A fire broke out in a Dannebrog house Saturday afternoon and left it a complete loss. (KSNB)
Nobody was home at the time except for two dogs in the basement. Firefighters were able to get the dogs out safely. The call came out around 3:30 in the afternoon. Shortly after crews arrived flames erupted from the roof.
Seven fire departments from the surrounding area responded including Dannebrog, Cairo, Boelus, Farwell, Elba, St. Paul, and St. Libory. About 45 firefighters were on scene.
With no access to hydrants, water tankers had to travel back and forth from the main area of town to where the house is located off Liberty Road east of town.
The house is brand new with the owners only moving in November. The state fire marshal was on scene earlier and is investigating the cause of the fire.
