Watching the news recently about the demolition of the house at 94 Dole Ave. brought back more horrifying memories not only for me but for everyone with a young child, not to mention those who live or lived in the neighborhood.
I was in that house 12 years ago dealing with this man, who was my attorney at the time. The house was a mess then. Tearing the house down will never put an end to this horrific story. Nor will building a park in the young boy’s memory, which seems to be the logical solution.
Who in their right mind would want to build another home on the lot? Not I, not ever.
Maybe an office type of house that blends in with the neighborhood that is a counseling center for abused children in AJ’s name would be the way to go. Maybe something good can come out of all this.
We as a society should never let something like this ever happen again. We need to be more aware of each other. When it comes to children, we all need to watch out and be helpful toward one another to make sure this never happens again.
