How much would you pay to live in a house used to film one of the best movies of 2019?
A modern midcentury manor that served as a filming location in the 2019 modern whodunnit “Knives Out” has hit the market with an asking price of $1,400,000.
The Lincoln property at 37 Laurel Ave. is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home built in 1957 and set on 1.06 acres. The property served as the home of Hugh Ransom Drysdale (played by Sudbury native Chris Evans) in the Oscar-nominated movie, which was also filmed elsewhere in Mass — Berlin, Boston, Canton, Easton, Marlborough, Maynard, Medfield, Natick, Stoughton, Waltham, and Wellesley — in 2018.
“Located at the top of the cul-de-sac in the Modernist enclave of Brown’s Wood in Lincoln, the Hill House is a dazzling International Style Mid-Century-Modern home,” reads the listing from Bill Janovitz and John Tse of Compass. “The house was designed by Walter Pierce, who planned and developed the pioneering Peacock Farm neighborhood in Lexington, and the “Peacock Farm House” design built first there (and soon replicated in other neighborhoods and towns).”
Walls of glass allow natural light to fill the rooms throughout the house, aided by the open floor plan . The home, which also has a master suite and a detached garage, is in a wooded section of Lincoln and comes with a membership to Valley Pond, which is used for seasonal swimming and (non-motor) boating.
